ALGIERS – In a move that underscores the evolving dynamics of Algerian-French relations, Algeria’s Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, received Ms. Ségolène Royal, President of the France-Algeria Association, on Thursday.
Ms. Royal is currently visiting Algeria to take part in the "African-Mediterranean Meetings of Thought," a prominent forum for intellectual and political exchange, according to an official statement from the ministry.
During this significant meeting, Minister Attaf extended his personal congratulations to Ms. Royal following her recent election to lead the prominent bilateral association. The discussion provided an opportunity to review "the various activities and projects overseen by the association with the aim of building bridges of communication, interaction, and understanding between the two countries and the peoples of Algeria and France," the statement added.
Ms. Royal’s visit to participate in the "African-Mediterranean Meetings of Thought" offers a valuable opportunity to exchange visions on critical regional issues and to strengthen dialogue between intellectual and political elites from both sides of the Mediterranean, especially amid current geopolitical shifts.
This new dynamic is expected to give additional momentum to Algerian-French relations, particularly in the youth, cultural, and economic sectors, affirming that a shared future is built through intellectual engagement and dialogue, not through stagnation or obstacles.
