The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has acquiesced to allegations made by the Moroccan Football Federation and opened an investigation into the Algerian women's national team.
A CAF statement issued Thursday evening read: "The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has opened an investigation into the Algerian women's national team, following allegations of violations of CAF rules and regulations during the Women's Africa Cup of Nations. CAF will not make any further comment on this matter until the procedures are completed."
Fouzi Lekjaa, President of the Moroccan Football Federation, pressured CAF to open an investigation into the women's national team, claiming that the Algerians deliberately concealed the logo of the Moroccan Football Federation, the venue for the Women's Africa Cup of Nations, with tape (on the bench seats). This occurred during the Greens' matches against Botswana last Sunday, and then against Tunisia on Thursday evening.
However, videos circulating Thursday evening showed young volunteers brought by the Moroccan Football Association to Marrakech who were behind the logo's disappearance (video + three photos below).
The CAF remained silent at the opening ceremony of the Women's Africa Cup of Nations in Marrakech last Saturday, when excerpts from the same old record were played, in which the Moroccan regime raves on its sickbed about its alleged sovereignty over Western Sahara.
The corrupt and cowardly Moroccan regime attempts to undermine Algeria at every sporting event, even though the Makhzen was recently kicked in the foot in the fake map jersey case.
